HOW TO MAKE AN APPLICATION LETTER AND CV
1. An Application Letter
Basically an application letter is not different from a
sales letter because in an application letter, a writer tries to make sure a
reader or receiver for what she/he has offered before. By sending an
application letter, a sender has tried to sell and make sure a reader from what
she/he has, like: knowledge, special skill, job experience, and personality of
a sender his/herself.
Because a sender of application letter hopes that a
receiver/a reader of his/her letter will be interested with what he/she has and
offers, then the application letter must contain words that can make a positive
impression from a receiver, so a receiver can have as a conclusion that she/he
has got a candidate who is suitable to work with him/her.
That must be looked at an application letter, both of
being clean, neat, implicit, and complete, a sender of the letter must say
everything honestly, and appropriate with what he/she has.
The contain of a letter is usually started with opening
paragraph that tells possibility the letter is made to respond an advertisement
on newspaper, based on information from his/her friend or willfully beg to send
with a hope that there is a suitable side in his/her basic education, skill,
and job experience she/he has. Then it is continued with something that must be
explained which connects with his/her basic education and job experience. In the
last letter part, generally it is closed with a closing paragraph that tells a
hope and willingness to follow an interview and others.
Besides being explained above, it needs to be understood
that there is an application letter that is enclosed by curriculum vitae and
there is also an application letter that is not enclosed by the curriculum
vitae. For the application letter that is not enclosed by curriculum vitae, the
application letter generally gives complete explanations about:
1. Personal
data; accounting for a place and date of birth, age and education background.
2. Work
experience; job experience (if available) by mentioning name of company, work
time, and reason why she/he stops working in the previous company.
3. Special
qualification; accounting for skills he/she has, example: computer, secretary, accounting
and foreign language he/she understands active or passive.
4. Reference;
certificate that is given that explains character and personality.
Whereas
an application letter that is enclosed by curriculum vitae, started by the
opening paragraph that explains that the letter is made to respond an advertisement
or based on information from certain person. This letter is followed by the
explanation that an applicant has worked and has a special skill and ended with
a hope that the applicant can follow an interview.
